The crash occurred at about 10:30 a.m on Friday, April 1 near Plato's Closet, 1417 Route 35 at Harmony Avenue, initial reports said.
The pedestrian, a 69-year-old woman from Rumson, sustained minor injuries that are not life-threatening, Middletown police said.
The pedestrian was taken to Hackensack Meridian Healthcare Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank for treatment, police said.
The driver of the vehicle, a 25-year-old man from Oceanport, remained on the scene and was cooperating in the police investigation, they said. There have been no summonses issued at this time.
The crash is still under investigation.
Middletown Police reminds the public to always exercise caution in shopping areas due to the high number of vehicles and pedestrians present in the same location.
